Someone once asked me: "Why are you so optimistic?" Then they asked an even better question. "Why do you actually like doing this so much?" I remember saying: "You’re gonna think I’m insane..." But business is just art. It’s a blank canvas. I really believe that. Every day you get to start over. Every day you get to decide what to make. Most people think business is about following the rules. I’ve always thought the fun part is realizing the rules can change. Can you look at a problem in a way no one else has? Can you make something that didn’t exist yesterday? That’s what I love. Business is one of the few places where creativity gets tested immediately. You put something into the world. People either use it or they don’t. You learn something either way. And tomorrow? You get another blank canvas.
If your team is planning H2 content right now, your next few weeks of social posts might already exist. They’re probably sitting inside your webinars, podcasts, demos, and long-form videos. The trick is knowing what to look for: → A line that would make someone stop scrolling → A clear takeaway → A useful tip → A memorable thought → A moment that works without needing the full context Then turn it into a short, vertical clip with captions, because most people are watching on mute. For content teams, this is where repurposing gets really useful. One long-form video can become weeks of social content that reaches people where they’re already spending time.
⏰ July 23 at 11 a.m. ET We’re teaming up with Superpath for a live webinar on Better Video Workflows for Lean Content Teams. Sam Balter from Wistia and Ruth Favela will walk through a practical, sustainable workflow for going from idea to recording, editing, clipping, and repurposing without needing a full production team or a complicated stack of tools. We’ll cover: → How to build a video tech stack that works for your team → How to plan and record stronger source content → How to use transcription, editing, clipping, and repurposing tools → How AI can help teams move faster without tanking quality Bring your questions about video workflows, repurposing, production bottlenecks, and making video actually manageable on a lean team. One of the most fun parts of building Remix, Wistia’s AI video editor, has been watching customers use it in ways we did not anticipate. The first version was pretty simple: Remix could understand the transcript of a video and make edits based on what was said. We thought that was the interesting part. Then customers started asking for things we hadn’t planned for. Some prompts worked. Some did not. But the surprising part was how much product direction was hiding in the prompts that didn’t work. In a traditional editor, you mostly see what customers click. With Remix, people can ask for exactly what they wish the product could do. That changed how we thought about building it. Every unexpected prompt became another clue about what Remix needed to understand next. That is one of the more interesting shifts with AI products: the feedback loop lives inside the product itself. If you’re curious, try Remix and let us know where you push it. Some of our best product ideas have come from seeing what customers try to do with it: https://lnkd.in/gNWdGxYi
Just two founders walking through 20 years of their own history. As part of Wistia’s 20th birthday celebration, the team created an exhibit looking back at the many eras of Wistia: The big moments, the tiny details, the ideas that stuck, and the memories that still make people laugh. Then Chris Savage and Brendan Schwartz got to see it all for the first time. A little nostalgic. A little emotional. Very Wistia. Here’s to the first twenty, and twenty more. 💙
One of the easiest traps in business is thinking that bigger means you should act more like everyone else. I don’t think that’s true. When Brendan Schwartz and I started Wistia, we had no choice but to trust our instincts. Later, we had data, research, experts, and benchmarks. Those things are important, but they can also convince you to ignore the little voice telling you something doesn’t feel right. Looking back, our best decisions started with a feeling we couldn’t fully explain. I think that’s one of the hardest parts of building a company. As you grow, you get more reasons to stop trusting yourself. Just don’t mistake consensus for conviction.
Most creative work doesn’t get stuck because people lack talent. It gets stuck because finding the right moments sometimes takes forever. Many of us can relate: You’ve got hours of interviews, hundreds of clips, and one story hiding somewhere inside. That’s where I think AI is most valuable. It’s not replace replacing your judgment. It’s helping you find the potential places you want to go faster. The story is still yours to tell, but you just don’t have to spend hours searching for it. Our Head of Production, Chris Lavigne, has been using this workflow on real projects. Instead of starting with a blank timeline, he starts with a story edit. Then he does what great editors do: shape the pacing, add the b-roll and graphics, and make the story come alive. He put together a short video showing exactly how he’s using Remix. If you’ve ever lost an afternoon scrubbing through interview footage looking for the right clip, I’d love for you to give Remix a try and let me know what you think: https://lnkd.in/grdm9Hsf
If you know how to Google, then you know how to use an MCP. MCP is one of those AI terms that sounds more complicated than it needs to, but the idea is pretty simple: It helps AI tools connect to the apps and data where your work actually happens. With Wistia’s MCP server, marketers can use tools like Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and more to manage video and webinar workflows with natural language prompts. Ask it to: → Pull performance data → Find content → Organize your library → Audit captions → Archive old videos Instead of digging through every folder or dashboard, you can ask for what you need and take action from there. That’s what MCP can make possible for video teams.
Make webinars worth watching
Most webinars are terrible. (Hey, Jay Acunzo said it, not us.) But he makes a good point: If we expect people to talk about our marketing, we should be making webinars that are actually worth talking about. That means thinking beyond registrations and asking: Would someone recommend this? Would they watch the replay? Would they want to come back for the next one? For content and demand gen teams planning webinars, the experience matters just as much as the registration number. Jay has a full series with Wistia all about how to make webinars worth watching. And yes, these webinars are definitely worth watching. Check it out: https://wi.st/4h64vHs
This clip started as a 30-minute conversation between me and Chris Savage about building products in the age of AI. Normally, turning that recording into this video would mean watching the full conversation, finding several relevant moments, deciding how they fit together, and assembling them on a timeline. Instead, we gave the recording to Remix, our AI video editor, and described the video we wanted it to make. With Remix, the assignment can be as simple as: - Turn this interview into five social clips. - Make a two-minute recap for people who missed the webinar. - Look through this folder of customer interviews and make a testimonial montage. That’s what we mean by agentic editing. You give Remix the footage and an outcome. It finds the relevant moments and assembles a first draft for you to react to. You’re still making the creative decisions. You’re just spending less time translating an idea into dozens of individual instructions on a timeline. If you have a recording -- or a folder of them -- sitting around, give Remix an assignment and see what it makes: https://lnkd.in/gNWdGxYi
Most work isn’t lost to one big task. It’s death by 10,000 clicks. Open a tab. Search for a file. Copy and paste. Switch between apps. Repeat. Individually, none of those things matter. Together, they quietly consume your day. Wistia’s Sasha F. and Sam Balter joined me on Talking Too Loud to discuss Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and halfway through the conversation I realized we weren’t really talking about MCPs anymore. We were talking about what happens when software stops making you learn where to click... ...and starts understanding what you’re trying to accomplish. The biggest productivity gain from AI isn’t a smarter model. It’s removing the friction between an idea and getting it done. That was just one of the ideas that stuck with me from this conversation. I unpack it, and a few others, here:
Nobody is rewatching your 60 minute webinar recording. Not even the speakers, for crying out loud! Weeks of planning, promo emails, dry runs... and then the recording just sits there, because no normal person in 2026 has an hour to rewatch it. That’s why I stopped treating the webinar replay as the final product. Now I make a recap video! I drop the recording into Remix, Wistia’s AI video editor, and tell it what I want. About a minute later I’ve got a first cut with the biggest takeaways and strongest moments already pulled together. A couple back and forth chats to tune it up and then it’s ready to share. WAY easier than doing this in Premiere or Final Cut! Now everyone gets the version they want: 👉 A two minute cut for the TL;DR crowd. 👉 The full webinar for the people who need Every. Single. Detail. One recording. Multiple versions. Wayyy more mileage out of work we already did! Go on! Give Remix a try: https://lnkd.in/g4rRTcv8
If you were making videos in 2006, what do you remember? Before video became the default, getting video online was a whole ordeal. The tools were clunky, the workflows were chaotic, and “quick video update” was rarely quick. Wistia has been around since those early internet video days, and thankfully, a lot has changed in 20 years.
The moment you stop trying to look like everyone else is the moment people actually notice you. When Brendan Schwartz and I set up our first Wistia website, we wanted the world to know we meant business. So, when it came to team headshots, we made sure we were business-like: no smiles, personifying what we thought business should be. We had recently added a couple of new team members to our fledgling business, and we were celebrating a birthday that week. So, we decided to loosen up on the serious. We animated our team photos, put Girl Talk music over it, and added a laser effect to the screen (see the test shot from the shoot for this below). The page went viral to the front page of Reddit. Two weeks later, we had a bunch of paying customers. It was the moment we learned that being ourselves wasn’t a liability. It was a superpower.
The video editor you just talk to
With Wistia’s AI video editor Remix, you don’t have to spend time scrubbing through all your footage to find the right takes to edit your video. Upload your takes, paste in your script, or simply tell Remix what you want. Want to swap a take, speed up the pacing, add music, or burn in captions? Just ask. Script in. Footage in. Finished video out. That’s Remix. https://wi.st/3R6tT5u
Try Remix free
Let’s be honest: Most people are not going to watch a full 60-minute webinar recording. So how do you make sure they still see it? Turn the best parts into something easier to watch. With our AI video editor, Remix, you can upload your webinar recording, describe the recap or cutdown you want, and get a first edit with the biggest takeaways pulled together. From there, you can keep refining it through conversation. Shorter version? Different pacing? More polished ending? Just ask. That means a lot more value from the work that already went into creating it. The webinar isn’t just a replay anymore. It’s source material. If you’ve got webinar recordings sitting in your library, try Remix and see what else they can become: https://wi.st/3R6tT5u

The best partnerships start with relationships—not rigid programs. That’s why we don’t expect every partner to fit the same mold. Whether you build products, create content, grow communities, or connect marketers to solutions, there’s more than one way to partner with Wistia. Got an audience of B2B marketers, creative, or video teams? Find the partnership that fits: https://wi.st/4x4BCAp
A captivating webinar needs structure. Jay Acunzo breaks it down into four beats: 1. Align 2. Agitate 3. Assert 4. Invite → Align with the audience Meet them where they are and show that you understand what they care about. → Agitate the problem Make the pain, challenge, or opportunity clear enough that they feel why it matters. → Assert your idea Share the shift in thinking you want them to consider. → Invite them to apply it Give them the advice, frameworks, stories, or methods to put the idea into action. Using this structure, you’ll turn a presentation into an argument people actually want to follow.
If you know how to Google, you already know how to use an MCP. That’s the simplest explanation of Model Context Protocol I’ve heard thanks to Wistia’s Sam Balter and Sasha F. We unpack why in the latest episode of Talking Too Loud. Listen wherever you get podcasts.

MCPs sound complicated until you realize one of the biggest use cases is simply: "Please make me click less." With Wistia’s MCP server, your AI agent can help find top-performing videos, tag content, organize videos into Channels, and pull performance data in one flow. Less tab-hopping. Less dashboard-digging. Less “wait, where does this video live again?” More getting things done.

What is a video MCP? The simple version: It connects your AI agent to your video library so you can prompt it to manage videos, pull performance data, analyze webinars, and take action across your video workflow. With Wistia’s MCP server, tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and more can connect to your Wistia account and help with tasks like: → Finding videos without captions → Adding captions in bulk → Pulling top-performing videos from a specific folder → Tagging untagged webinar videos → Drafting social posts from a webinar transcript → Reporting on webinar registrations, attendance, and watch time It’s like having an AI video assistant for the work that usually takes a lot of digging, clicking, checking, and organizing.
